Born from the fire, drawn in the sand, and carried in the stories of those who came before.
Tending the sacred fire of Indigenous stories, bringing truth and transformation to the world.

Stories are not just told. They are forged in the heart of land and held in the protection of community, kindled by the fire of shared experience and released into the world to find their own light.

The VA Network Studio is not a place, but a process. A convergence of creators, innovators, and tradition-bearers, we are a space where story is not a commodity, but a covenant – a commitment to relation, responsibility, and reciprocity – to the old ways, to the right ways.

It begins with a spark. An idea, a vision, a voice that needs to be heard. For generations, stories were the lifeblood of our communities, the threads that wove us together. They were not separate from us, but a part of us. They lived in the land, in our languages, in our ceremonies. But somewhere along the way, the stories were taken from the fire, their warmth replaced by the cold glow of the screen.
But stories are not meant for cold storage. They are living things. They need the breath of the storyteller, the heart of the listener, the spirit of the community. They need to be brought back to the fire.

The VA Network Studio is that fire, and the fuel to sustain it. It is a gathering place for those who understand that storytelling is not a product, but a process. It is an invitation to return to the heart of story, to take it from the digital and back into the real, into the hands of those who will shape it, into the hearts of those who will receive it, into the future that it will help to create.
The only thing we can leave behind for all those coming after
are the tools – and the only tools that will last and always be relevant is Good Story

Stories were never meant to be just watched – they were meant to be lived, carried, and returned to the fire.

The VA Network Studio is a groundbreaking initiative designed to redefine the traditional concept of a creative studio, transforming it into a profound ceremonial gathering centered on Indigenous storytelling. Unlike conventional media production houses, The VA Network Studio emphasizes the lived experience of stories, their connection to land, and their role in cultural preservation and healing. At the heart of our studio is the fire of creation, a symbol of the enduring power of Indigenous knowledge and the continuity of oral traditions.
By bringing together Indigenous creators, elders, and seekers from around the world, the Studio aims to return stories to their rightful place – not as mere content for consumption, but as vital forces for transformation and reciprocity, ultimately contributing to a more just and harmonious world.
We create work from an immersive, ceremonial space, prepared for sharing their stories, offering a way to return to right relation with ourselves, each other, and the Earth.

It’s not about the What, but the How. Not the Things, but the Processes. The Why we do it this way and the lasting effect it can have over the next 7 generations that sets us, and the work we do apart.

Embedded in a landscape, in a way of being, in a way of knowing.

Our creative approach is rooted in collective knowledge and collaborative practice. Using traditional sense making processes, we set traditional Indigenous wisdom and ancient ways of knowing into the foundation of all our projects. This approach transforms how we approach our work and the lasting impact it has. We focus not on the What but on the How, not the Things but the Processes.

Indigenous Knowledge carries the patterns, systems, methods, and
protocols necessary to save the world, and we integrate this wisdom into
everything we do. Our studio brings together First Nations creatives and
their allies from around the world, uniting around a digital campfire to
craft a future where every story is heard, every voice is valued, and every
action is a step towards a more just and regenerative world.
We start with Wangu, what can best be translated into collective sense
making, where we all come together, sitting around the same campfire,
sharing stories and lore and letting your project emerge from that
process. This foundational connection to place, community, and spirit
guides every aspect of the work we do – and it is what sets it apart, and is
what will set you, and your story, apart.

a force of renewal, a space where storytelling creates real-world change.

Every story we tell is a seed planted, a ripple that moves outward, shaping not just minds but communities, economies, and futures. The impact of our work is not measured in box office numbers or streaming metrics, but in the restoration of knowledge, the empowerment of Indigenous creatives, and the tangible benefits returned to the lands and peoples these stories belong to.

Every film, series, and project that emerges from VA Studios is crafted with deep respect for the knowledge systems it carries. These are not just stories; they are medicine, guiding us back into relation with land, with language, with ways of knowing that have sustained peoples for millennia. Our work breathes life into ancient narratives, revitalizes languages on the brink of silence, and ensures that the wisdom of Elders is carried forward—not as nostalgia, but as living instruction for the future.

walking alongside storytellers, not merely as producers, but as custodians of their vision

Storytelling has never been a one-way transmission. It is not something to be broadcast, consumed, and discarded. It is a dynamic, living process – a relationship between land, people, and spirit, woven into the web of all things. Story is not just heard; it is held. It does not just inform; it transforms.

But the film industry has rarely honored this law. It has turned stories into products, voices into content, and history into spectacle. Too often, Indigenous stories have been taken, spoken about rather than with, spoken of the knowledge rather than from the wisdom of the people, extracted rather than exchanged, commodified rather than cared for. Too often, those who carry the knowledge have been left with nothing, while those who took it profit from its power. We want to change that.

Ensuring stories continue to breathe, to guide, to shape a future where we re-become custodians of creation, moving in harmony with all that sustains us.

programs & services

At The VA Network Studio, we walk alongside storytellers through every stage of their creative journey, transforming visions into impactful narratives. Our comprehensive support spans the entire production lifecycle, ensuring that each story is nurtured with care and brought to life with integrity.

We do not just make and fund projects; we move with the rhythm of the stories themselves, and share good story right way. Our approach is grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, in collaborative practice, in sense-making that extends beyond the screen. It is not about the What, but the How. Not just the Things, but the Processes that shape them. Every project, every frame, every spoken word is part of a larger movement – one that reconnects people to the land, to each other, and to the responsibility we all share.

This fire is burning. Step forward and take your place.

Story is not something to be taken – it is something to be carried, with care. It does not exist in isolation but in deep relation – to the land, to the language, to the kinship systems that sustain it. Every film, every series, every project is mapped back to Country, to the knowledge systems that birthed it, ensuring that these stories are not just seen but felt, not just documented but honored.

Here, storytelling is not just about what is told – it is about how it is held. How it moves. How it gives back. Because in the old ways, to receive a story is to take on a responsibility. And in this space, we carry that responsibility with the weight it deserves.

share them in new ways, to new audiences, using traditional methodologies. We collaborate with Indigenous communities, knowledge holders, and artists to ensure that every story is told with integrity, reciprocity, and respect.

We are the inheritors of the wisdom of three generations past. The caretakers of the legacy we will leave for three generations to
come.
What will your contribution to the story be?
A fire isn’t tended by a single set of hands. It takes a whole camp, a whole network of relations, to keep it burning bright. At The VA Network Studio, we are guided by such a circle – a council made up of knowledge keepers, filmmakers, storytellers, Elders, uncles and aunties, academics, activists, and community leaders, even children, from all over the world sitting around one fire, with a shared purpose.

This is your invitation to step into the circle. Whether you are a creative with a story burning within you, seeking a collaborative space to bring your vision to life, or a supporter who believes in the transformative power of Indigenous narratives and want to help create, tell, and share the stories the world desperately needs to hear, there is a place for You here.

The stories we tell today will shape the world of tomorrow. We invite you to work with us, to share your story in a way that honors the past and inspires the future. Together, we can create narratives that resonate deeply, spark change, and reconnect us all to the land, to each other, and to the wisdom that has been passed down through the ages.

This is your open invitation.
Welcome to the fire.
